Beyond Appearances: Embracing True Connections and Unveiling the Unseen

Humans are social beings; encountering people in our daily lives is inevitable. Unfortunately, this often leads to various judgments and, in some cases, problems. However, it is evident that such judgments have numerous drawbacks, including misunderstandings that can escalate into conflicts between individuals. Thus, I propose that we refrain from judging anyone based on their external appearances, nationalities, or rumors.

Many people easily misinterpret others by hastily judging them solely on their looks or backgrounds, missing out on unexpected and beneficial connections. External appearances cannot reveal one's true thoughts or intentions. Regrettably, some individuals, particularly those of certain ethnicities, are unfairly denied opportunities due to prejudice. Instead of rushing to judgment, we should take the time to understand someone's true character before deciding to form connections or dismiss them.

The harm caused by snap judgments can be significant. As expressed in Tom Holland's speech, we should only have a problem with someone if we know them well enough to have their contact information. Similarly, if we don't know a person well, we shouldn't base our judgment on superficial aspects. Instead, we should seek to understand their thoughts and reasons. By doing so, we increase the likelihood of finding like-minded individuals with whom we can build meaningful relationships.

Judging others can bring trouble to both the judger and the one being judged, so it is wiser not to engage in it. Nobody wants to be unfairly assessed, and to avoid that, we must resist the urge to judge others. Though it might be challenging to completely avoid judging based on appearances, we can acknowledge the reasons why we shouldn't do it and strive to minimize it as much as possible. In doing so, we contribute to making the world a better place to live, fostering understanding, and compassion among all.
