Novels and movies are two of the most enjoyable hobbies worldwide. Although they fall into the same category, there are significant differences between them. Novels tell the story, while movies show it. The way they engage their audience is also dissimilar – novels are meant to be read, while movies are seen and heard. From a bookworm's perspective, I firmly believe that reading books is more enjoyable than watching films.

Fiction allows me to immerse myself in the story. The beautifully written language helps me vividly imagine each scene. When reading a book, I have the freedom to pause whenever I want, providing time to savor and follow the story gradually. This creates deeper connections with the characters and events. For example, I deeply admire Sophie from "Howl's Moving Castle" for her maturity and composure.

Reading novels improves my focus and vocabulary, especially when reading them in English. It boosts creativity as readers can visualize scenes better. Fiction also expands knowledge as people tend to look up unfamiliar words while reading. Moreover, it evokes empathy and emotions as readers become more engaged with the characters and understand their situations. I can always visualize scenes vividly and even get emotionally involved with the characters.
While some people enjoy movies for their audiovisual experiences and ability to provide small details that aid memory, I find reading novels more enjoyable due to their brilliant writing and the way they narrate the story, not just show it. Novels enable me to establish meaningful connections with the characters and truly understand them. Reading fiction not only enriches our vocabulary but also fuels our imagination.
